Hello again Racing Ears,
Here is a pretty intense session for me. I was in this space with world renowned racing photographer Bob Pengraph as he took the lead in this session. I had no idea how intense this session was going to be. It turned out to be awesome audio session full of flybys of rumbling thunderous cars. And I am sure that Bob’s pictures turned out amazing as well. This was the session where I accidentally dropped my new iPhone to the ground. And thanks to the foresight of my lovely wife, the Lifeproof case protected my phone from breaking. This was the loud rumbling group which I call the Chris MacAllister group, because he usually drives his 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 race car in this group. Mike Joy was also in this group driving a 1966 Ford Mustang.
This was a fierce place to record from. I remembered getting a bit nervous being so close to the track from this location. The armco barrier was moving briskly in the afterburner wind of these cars as they flew by me at close to 130 mph. It is the closest to the race track I have ever been. Right underneath the flag stand.
